Past, Present, Imperfections - An exhibition of works by Sally Hirst at Norwich Theatre Royal

Sally Hirst - Painting1 ()

Sally Hirst is widely known for her images of the urban environment and industrial architecture. She has spent the past year immersing herself in the architectural and industrial history of Norwich and creating this series of painting, prints and collages as a response to her research. The work reflects the texture, architecture, signage and structures of our fine city. Her sensitive depictions fall between abstraction and realism and invite you to question what still exists and what has gone before; Buildings you will recognise are depicted alongside those that now only exist in old photographs. Through the layers of information and meaning, transparency and opacity, ambiguity and nuance these images aim to inform and enrich your understanding of our fine city. We are thrilled to have Sally's paintings on display as part of our ongoing exhibition series at the Theatre Royal Norwich. Exhibition ends Monday 2nd October 2017.

Proudly sponsored by Targetfollow Estates Ltd.

The exhibition runs from Wednesday 19th July 2017 until Monday 2nd October 2017.
