News - Martin Laurance 'Land and Sea' exhibition

Targetfollow presents a solo exhibition by Martin Laurance

15th October 2015 - 24th January 2016

The 'Land and Sea' exhibition, a collection of works by artist Martin Laurance, was opened by way of a private viewing on Thursday 15th October 2015, at The Adnams Bar, Norwich Theatre Royal.

Colourful, energetic mixed media paintings.

This exhibition features paintings that celebrate the variety and diversity of the British landscape. Places where land, sea and sky meet; from the ever changing coastlines of Norfolk and Suffolk to the dramatic coast of Cornwall.

High Fremington, Swaledale (Martin Laurance, Land and Sea, Norwich Theatre Royal, October 2015) Orford Ness, The Street (Martin Laurance, Land and Sea, Norwich Theatre Royal, October 2015) Swaledale (Martin Laurance, Land and Sea, Norwich Theatre Royal, October 2015) Sea Defenses Happisburgh (Martin Laurance, Land and Sea, Norwich Theatre Royal, October 2015) Walcott after the Storm (Martin Laurance, Land and Sea, Norwich Theatre Royal, October 2015)

Martin walks and draws to explore the often remote places where the weight of history and man's interaction with the landscape can be sensed but often not seen. Where the man-made meets and often collides with the natural world.

The still mysterious landscape of Orford Ness continues to intrigue and inspire the artist as do the moors and hills of upland Britain. Martin's paintings are seeking out an 'inner reality', something beyond an impression that is true to his experience.

Adnams Bar, Theatre Royal, Theatre Street, Norwich, NR2 1RL. Opening hours are Monday to Saturday from 9.30am until 5pm (and until 8pm on theatre performance days).

The exhibition continues until 24/01/16
